Position Summary:

The Stores Supervisor assists the Store Purchasing Manager with the day-to-day operation of the Stores Department. In addition, they are responsible for the supervision and development of the Stores clerk.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Informing the Director of Maintenance of any irregularities in the airworthiness documentation for all aircraft components, parts, and materials
  • Provisioning, receipt, preservation and issuing of all aircraft components, parts and materials as directed
  • Preservation, packing and dispatching of items for repair or overhaul
  • Maintain a minimum inventory level at all bases
  • Travel to all as out bases required
  • Overseeing the Stores Quarantine Areas, located within the Stores facility, and its contents
  • Identifying all aircraft components, parts, or material via the Calm Air Tagging System
  • Monitoring shelf-lifed parts and authorizing removal of those items which have expired
  • Provides direction, delegates tasks to employees and ensures all timelines and deadlines are met
  • Lead and develop all stores employees
  • Provide vacation coverage in absence of Stores clerks
  • Certifying Receiving Inspection tags for previously certified parts; this authority does not extend to any parts which have been repaired, tested, or otherwise processed through Calm Air's approved shops
  • Following all policies and procedures which will enhance and maintain operational safety and efficiency; this includes all related roles and responsibilities in regard to the Calm Air SMS Program, as outlined in the SMS Manual, CA-1001
  • Other duties as assigned

Managers, Supervisors and Leads – have been delegated the authority and are responsible to the Department Head to actively identify hazards and deficiencies and report through the SMS (Safety Management System) Program reporting system.  Communicate with all personnel within their respective department and other departments as required to maintain effective day to day activities.  Ensure regulatory and company standards are maintained.  Assist in the development and maintenance of company processes and procedures. (Quality Assurance activities)

Hours of Work:

  • Shift work is required and may include mornings/afternoons, evenings, nights, and weekends

Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Post-secondary education in related field preferred or a combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office)
  • Excellent communication, time management and organization skills
  • High degree of accountability
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Security Clearance qualification
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license
